Curriculum

Dr. Sonia Massari has more than 20 years of experience as a researcher, lecturer, consultant, and designer in the fields of human-food interaction design, sustainability education, design thinking and creative methods for innovative agri-food systems. For 12 years she was the Academic Director of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Food Studies programs in Rome. She is currently the Academic Director of the Future Food Academy and senior researcher at the Barilla Foundation. She teaches "Sustainability Design Thinking" at Roma Tre University and "Sociology of Change - New Sustainable Scenarios" at ISIA and food design modules in several European universities. Co-founder of FORK, an international no-profit organization dedicated to food design, board member of the Association for the Study of Food and Society and of the International Journal of Food Design. She coordinates the ADI Index food design commission and has authored 50+ publications in scientific journals, reports, books, as well as articles on magazines. The title of her last book is: "Trans-disciplinary Case Studies on Design for Food and Sustainability". Sonia Massari ha più di 20 anni di esperienza come ricercatrice, docente, consulente in human-food interaction design, educazione alla sostenibilità attraverso il cibo, metodi creativi per sistemi agroalimentari innovativi. Per 12 anni è stata Direttrice dei programmi di Food Studies dell'Università dell'Illinois Urbana-Champaign a Roma. Attualmente è Direttore Accademico della Future Food Academy e ricercatrice senior presso la Fondazione Barilla. Insegna "Sustainability Design Thinking" presso l'Università Roma Tre e "Sociologia del cambiamento – Progettare nuovi scenari sostenibili" presso ISIA, oltre a specifici moduli sul food design in diverse università europee. È co-fondatrice di FORK (Food Design Opportunities Research Knowledge) una organizzazione internazionale no-profit dedicata al food design. Fa parte del board dell’Association for the Study of Food and Society e dell’editorial board dell’International Food Design Journal. Coordina la commissione sul food design per ADI Index ed è autrice di oltre 50 pubblicazioni su riviste scientifiche, libri e altri articoli.
