The study will focus on the identification of what nourishes the radical renewal of the mime art realised by Etienne Decroux at the beginning of the twentieth century. Besides exceptional performances, those characteristic theatre environments built a protected time-space dedicated to research, experimentation, exchange of expertise and established a network of relationships among exponents from the world of art, culture and the so called civilised society.
