Course title La pedagogia scientifica di Maria Montessori. Modello di organizzazione e gestione del processo d’insegnamento-apprendimento dal Nido alla scuola secondaria / Maria Montessori’s scientific pedagogy. A model for the organization and management of the teaching-learning process from Nursery to secondary school.
Program In this didactic module, genesis, development, applications and relevance of the Montessori educational model are presented, the one resulting from the pioneering scientific work of Maria Montessori, today at the centre of a renewed and growing enhancement at international level. Montessori turns out to be a classic of pedagogy that we never cease to discover and appreciate for its consistency and scientific relevance, and that, precisely for this reason, we intend to bring, in its essential lines, to the attention of the students of the SDE degree program. Specific objectives are: - to know Maria Montessori and the historical, social and cultural context in which she lived and worked; - to know and analyze the bibliographic excursus of her scientific production and the diffusion in the world of her movement; - analyze and discuss the psycho-pedagogical and didactic elements underlying the Montessori learning environment and the activities that take place there; - analyze and discuss the professional profile of the teacher as cultural mediator and observer; - identify and reflect on the intercultural dimension of the model (cosmic vision); - identify and analyze the specific meaning of the Montessori pedagogical key-words; - reflect on the quality characteristics of educational contexts; - know how to identify criteria for analysis and evaluation of the quality of the Montessori learning environment.
