Estimation and expression of uncertainty according to GUM (Guide of the expression of uncertainty in measurements – NIST, 2008). Geophysical signals data analysis with Mathlab. Measurement techniques in situ, in laboratory and from satellite. Electrical and magnetic properties of geomaterials. Electric and magnetic measurements in frequency and time domain. Laboratory activity: use of Impedance LCR and Vector Network Analyzer for the characterization of the dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability. Electromagnetic propagation in geomaterials. Ground Penetrating Radar: theory and applications. Data analysis and inversion techniques. Meccanical properties of materials. Propagation of P waves in rock samples. Signal analysis in time and frequency domain. Measurement of wave velocity and estimation of elastic parameters.
