Università Roma Tre

The course is divided in 3 parts. The first part is an introduction to the history of the relations between Europe and the United States, and the main elements that characterized the transatlantic relationship during the XX century. The second is focused on the Cold War period, with particular attention to: the Berlin issue, the creation and role of NATO, the relationship between Soviet Union and the United States, and the evolution of European Integration. The last part addresses the impact of the fall of the Berlin Wall on the relations between Europe and the United States and the post-Cold War period.
