Degree Course: Modern languages for International Communication
A.Y. 2015/2016
- saper interagire oralmente, esponendo idee autonome, ricevendo e dando istruzioni, avviando e sviluppando scambi dialettici, con specialisti e non specialisti;
- saper parlare in pubblico;
- saper scrivere in modo chiaro, ben organizzato vari generi testuali ;
- saper riassumere e valutare informazioni tratte da più fonti scritte anche di natura e livello scientifici;
I suddetti risultati verranno raggiunti tramite modalità didattiche che variano in parte a seconda del settore disciplinare: a) nel settore delle lingue straniere, tramite lezioni, esercitazioni di lingua, laboratorio linguistico, laboratorio di analisi e di traduzione di testi preparazione di elaborati, applicazione di modelli di analisi;
- strategie metacognitive (la riflessione sulla lingua e sul relativo processo di apprendimento);
- strategie cognitive (l'esplorazione dei differenti stili e strategie di apprendimento, e la ricognizione dei bisogni individuali);
i) la conoscenza di due lingue europee a livello B2+ (comprensione e produzione scritta e orale);
oppure:
Regolamento didattico del CdL Lingue e mediazione linguistico-culturale, Classe L-12) e la conoscenza di una lingua europea a livello B2+ (comprensione e produzione scritta e orale);
Orientamento in ingresso
Il GLOA promuove azioni relative all’orientamento in ingresso, all’orientamento in itinere (tutorato, tirocini e stage) e all’orientamento in uscita (politiche attive per il lavoro e placement).
Orientamento in ingresso
a) seminari e attività formative realizzate in collaborazione con i docenti della scuola;
b) incontri e manifestazioni informative rivolte alle future matricole;
Dall'a.a.

TRANSATLANTIC RELATIONS LM
(objectives)
The course will analyze the evolution of relations between the United States and Europe from the end of the Second World War to the emergence of a post-American world. The first module will focus upon key moments in the origins and evolution of the transatlantic relationship during the Cold War, such as the Atlantic Charter, the Marshall plan, the formation and evolution of NATO, the Suez Canal crisis and the Vietnam conflict, and proposals for a new transatlantic bargain. The second module will discuss transatlantic relations after the end of the East-West division. While the central theme of the course will be the history of relations between the United States and Europe, analytical perspectives about the nature of the transatlantic community will also be presented and debated.
Students that have successfully passed this course will possess:
* a deep understanding of and the ability to comment on relations between the United States and Western Europe (LO1)
* an understanding of the policy preferences and attitudes of the United States and the main European states to transatlantic relations (LO2)
* a working knowledge of ‘Western institutions’, their build-up, their policy-making strategies, and their wider role in international politics (LO3)
* a theoretically and empirically informed understanding of NATO and its role in world politics (LO4)
* the ability to analyse and critically assess the strengths and weaknesses of the transatlantic relationship (LO5)
* methodological and other transferable skills and tools for understanding international politics and international relations (LO6)
